Houseboat Casita in Constitutional Marina in Boston Harbor

During this unbearably hot August, I recently took a quick trip to Boston, MA. I needed a hotel room for 1 night. I was discouraged when I saw that the average hotel prices in Boston are close to $300 a day! Then my fiancé stumbled upon a small houseboat bed and breakfast (a Casita) for only $215 a night in the beautiful Constitution Harbor in Boston!

The experience staying on the houseboat was sensational! The consistent rocking of the room was fun, and the motion made you sleep like a baby.

The Casita houseboat is literally a floating hotel room. The cozy quarters have a queen bed, and surprisingly not too snug en-suite bath. Two people could fit in that shower. Coffee machine, iron and all the other necessities are there. Free parking and breakfast voucher to nearby cafe.

The houseboat has an enticing private deck with colorful Adirondack chairs. The chairs are situated around a circular table surrounded by delicate flowers. The stunning views from the harbor take your breath away. As the sun sets you have a magical view of Boston’s incredible skyline.

The Constitution Marina in the Boston Harbor
The marina is in a central location. Restaurants (including Paul Revere’s favorite drinking hole, the historic General Warren Tavern https://www.warrentavern.com/) coffee shops, museums and monuments are all within walking distance. There is even a swimming pool in the marina you can use.

Here are more photos from my trip. Photos by Arturo Augustus.

Dining Recommendations in The West End, Boston
For a relaxing dinner you can walk 15 minutes (or take a Uber) to the West End and find marvelous waterfront restaurants. We chose“The Alcove, Boston”. https://www.instagram.com/AlcoveBoston/ The restaurant’s blackened fish tacos are delicious, and they give you big portions for only $15!
